I shipped from Washington, DC to the Philippines. The package arrived in the Philippines only several days after it was shipped. It then sat in a warehouse and was not delivered for 10 days in spite of multiple calls to UPS international customer service and having paid the import duties the day it arrived. Only when the receiver finally called them in country and confirmed that indeed the address was perfectly correct, did they finally deliver the package.

As far as I know, the service I paid for is a door-to-door delivery. However, the delivery driver called me, saying that he cannot come to my neighborhood and I need to go to the location at the time he chose to see him. I repeatedly stated that I want my package delivered at least to my neighborhood because I don't have a car and I'm at home 24/7. It would just take him 2 minutes to drive to my neighborhood from the location of his choice, and I even offered to wait for him at the front gate of my gated residential area so he can just pull over drop the package and leave without bothering with the gate, but he still requested me to see him at the location and time of his choice. As a result, I had to walk 60 minutes round-trip at 1PM-2PM on a hot, sunny summer day, just to get my package. This is absurd.

Don't Use UPS in Paris

The UPS in France never actually delivers your package - they lose it and say they tried to deliver it and you are forced to take a $100 cab ride and wait for hours and they still deny they have it. It is impossible. If you are shipping to Paris - DO NOT USE UPS.
